Opening Seminar in Kassel (DE)

Project partners participated in the first event of the 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝟰𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 – 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in Germany hosted by Landkreis Kassel from 25th to 27th July, deepening the knowledge on the different types of Participatory Public Art and its role in valorising the role of citizens in civic society. Starting from the sentence by the geographer, Ti Fu Juan “𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑎 𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑟, 𝑤𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑡 𝑎 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒”, participants started to discuss about the #ActiveParticipation of citizens through art experiences.
Presentations of examples of participatory public art events in the European Countries have been held and a fruitful discussion took place on the meaning and importance of the participation of citizens in “𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑓𝑖𝑙 𝐸𝑈’𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑖𝑡𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑛𝑜 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑏𝑒ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑟, 𝑤𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑡 𝑎 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒” as stated in the EU documents.

Seminar on state of arts in Amadora (PT).

The partners of the Art4rights project met in Amadora for the second event to discuss the two pillars of the project: participatory public art and its classification on the one hand and the EU Charter of Rights on the other.
Particular attention was paid to the analysis and description of local stakeholders who will actively participate in the preparation of the final artistic outcomes.
